Just because I slacked off a bit during the past few weeks, my parents are bugging me with the differences between the students of Canada and the ones in Hong Kong. And this unknownth time of which I have lost count since God knows when
"You kids are so lazy," my father would say. "In Hong Kong, kids your age are studying non-stop for 5 hours straight, and you guys don't even feel true pressure during exams. When I was little, we had 10 subject homework every night."
Hong Kong this, Hong Kong that. WHO CARES. I don't mind how the Board of Education run their stuff, but what they don't understand is that some kids struggle in high school as well. Sometimes, they forget that where we are now.
This is Canada, you guys. You can't change how they do their job just because you disapprove it. I come from a strict family upbringing; I understand how they feel and I sometimes agree with them, but this is just going a bit overboard.
"Ducklings like you need to spend more time with strict teachers; the world needs them to keep you guys in line," Dad points out. Whoopdeedo.
"And you should at least have a 3 hour's worth of homework time," my mom would add.
So, what do you think of this situation?
